OSSMBuild Sequence
11. First Test
Verify homing and motion at low speed after assembly.
Before applying power
- Secure the actuator to its standard mount.
- Leave at least 200 mm of clear travel in front of the end effector.
- Check every fastener, belt alignment, tensioner, connector, and power terminal.
- Keep hands, hair, clothing, tools, and cables away from moving parts.
- Put the stop control within immediate reach.
Do not test an unsecured actuator. Disconnect power immediately if motion is reversed, obstructed, unstable, or unexpectedly forceful.
Test homing
- Set the controller speed to zero.
- Connect the official wired remote, or power on a charged RADR nearby.
- Connect the 24 V power supply.
- Stand clear and watch the complete homing movement.
- Disconnect power if the carriage moves toward an obstruction, binds, or moves in the wrong direction.
Test a short stroke
- After homing completes, select the simplest motion mode.
- Set a short depth.
- Increase speed only enough to confirm smooth motion.
- Stop and verify the stop control halts motion.
- Disconnect power and inspect the belt, pulley, fasteners, and wiring once more.
The OSSM homes in the correct direction, moves smoothly without belt skipping or rubbing, and stops immediately from the controller.
If any check fails, use Assembly Troubleshooting before applying power again.
