Assembly Troubleshooting

Stop safely and check common OSSM assembly problems.

Stop before troubleshooting

Disconnect power and wait for all movement to stop before touching the belt, motor, carriage, wiring, or control board.

The carriage binds by hand

Recheck rail alignment, belt routing, bearing alignment, the front hard limit, and belt tension. Return to the stage where movement first became restricted.

The control board does not power on

Disconnect power. Verify polarity and terminal placement against Wiring. Inspect for loose strands or exposed conductor. Do not repeatedly apply power to uncertain wiring.

Homing moves in the wrong direction

Disconnect power immediately and recheck the motor direction and pulse wiring. Do not continue to a motion test.

The belt skips or walks sideways

Disconnect power and review Pulley on Motor and Belt Tension. The pulley, belt, and bearings must stay aligned through the full hand-checked travel.

If the checks do not identify the cause, contact support@researchanddesire.com before applying power again.
